A high-level delegation of Muttahida Madaris Council Pakistan visited the main branch of MCB Islamic Bank in Islamabad to discuss longstanding challenges faced by Madaris in opening and maintaining institutional bank accounts. The delegation included Allama Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, Coordinator of the National Paigham-e-Aman Committee; Allama Dr. Mir Muhammad Asif Akbar Qadri, Spokesperson of Muttahida Madaris Council Pakistan and Nazim-e-Ala Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan; Dr. Syed Ziaullah Shah Bukhari; and Allama Mufti Muhammad Zubair Faheem. During the meeting, bank representatives informed the delegation that approximately 90 percent of DGRE-registered Madaris in Islamabad had successfully opened their bank accounts. They also discussed simplified banking procedures enabling institutions registered with the Directorate General of Religious Education (DGRE) to access financial services more efficiently. The representatives of Muttahida Madaris Council appreciated the cooperation of MCB Islamic Bank, government authorities, and other concerned institutions in addressing these longstanding administrative challenges. The delegation described the development as an important step toward resolving banking difficulties faced by Madaris for nearly two decades and expressed hope that similar facilities would be extended to affiliated and registered Madaris throughout Pakistan.
