Workshop under Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan calls for effective teaching methodology

Three-day teacher training workshop has started under the banner of Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan. Hundreds of teachers belonging to over 200 religious seminaries attended the workshop. The educational experts delivered lectures on the most effective and modern ways of teachings on the first day of the workshop. They emphasized the need for bringing about changes in the teaching methodology and the use of technology in Madaris. The demonstration of various methods was made before the teachers to help them improve upon their instructional skills.

Ain ul Haq Baghdadi

In his opening remarks, Nazim Examination Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan Ain-ul-Haq Baghdadi welcomed the participants and the experts to the workshop and stated that it is for the first time that such a refresher course is being conducted for the teachers of Madaris. Throwing light on the aims and objectives of the workshop, he said that it is aimed at developing teachers' capacity to impart quality education and training to the students and improve the standard of instruction.

Dr Shabbir Ahmad Jami, head of Islamic Studies Department, Minhaj University Lahore, delivered a lecture at the workshop on the topic of the need and importance of 'naqabat'." Principal Jamia Hajveri Allama Mufti Badar-uz-Zaman Qadri gave a talk on the topic of academic morality. Allama Saeed Raza Baghdadi's lecture was on the subject of Arabic grammar and translation of the Holy Quran, whereas Dr Shafaqat Ali Baghdadi shared details about the curriculum of Nizam-ul-Madaris.

Allama Badar-uz-Zaman Qadri said in his lecture that for students, it is necessary to learn about morality as much as acquire their formal education. He said that a sacred duty like education should be treated more like a mission than a business. He said two things stand out among the attributes and characteristics that Allah Almighty has endowed man: knowledge and excellence of mannerism. He said that if our educational system does not create excellent conduct, then both the system as well as the curriculum need change.

Hafiz Saeed Raza Baghdadi

Hafiz Saeed Raza Baghdadi highlighted the need for improving the teaching methodology. He said that the use of multimedia and other modern means of information can help build on the quality of instruction.

Prof Dr Shabbir Ahmad Jami said in his talk that the educational standard of a teacher has a direct bearing on the learning outcomes of students. He said that academically weak teachers cannot build educated society.

Dr Shafaqat Ali Baghdadi

Dr Shafaqat Ali Baghdadi, Director Curriculum, Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan, stated that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has laid the foundation of producing educated and self-aware generations by aligning the curriculum of religious seminaries in line with the modern requirements after the three centuries.

Haroon Sani

Haroon Sani, renowned motivational speaker and Director Training at Minhaj Education Society, delivered a lecture on the topic of the class management. He said there is a difference between teaching and meaningful learning outcomes, adding that a good teacher delivers on both counts. He said that our educational system largely gives us loads of information but does not provide us with the skill set to negotiate the challenges of a practical life.

Ghulam Murtaza Alvi

Director Training Ghulam Murtaza Alvi conducted the proceedings of the inaugural session. The first day's workshop was attended by Haji Imdadullah Khan, president Nizam-ul-Madaris, Director IT Muhammad Sanaulah and others.
